Your Big Presentation Needs iTour-70

Divoom iTour-70 Portable Speaker

Public speaking can be very stressful. There are those who get up in front of a crowd and go through that dreadful panic moment. It takes a lot of discipline, practice and preparation to put on a good presentation and even knowing what you need to know can be hard.

You went through your slides, edited and finalized your deck and made sure you’ve got everything on presentation day. What else do you need?

If you don’t have a huge screen to show off that deck and sound system to boost it up, carrying a macbook will never be enough.  Here’s what you need: stylish speakers.

This Divoom iTour-70 won’t fail to show off. Guaranteed power for your presentation.  Its travel-friendly 2.0 channel speaker system is so handy, it won’t even add weight on your shoulders and because it’s made of scratch resistant steel polish and rubber like texture behind, you wouldn’t worry on it too much.

Don’t forget the 3.5mm audio jack though when carrying it around.

Because the sound it produce is crisp, sharp and clear; every detail and audio on your presentation won’t give those ears a hard time although this iTour-70 is only fit to a closed quiet room or can only be heard on a certain measure of distance, this iTour-70 serves it’s purpose well. My Macbook will never be complete without this gadget even during ordinary days while watching a movie, sound tripping while working or when that ipod needs to be heard out loud.

Plug’n’Play. The iTour-70 is charged via USB of your laptop. On a full-charge this speaker will last for 8-hours, it outweighs those battery operated speakers.

How did the presentation go? it flew well. Thanks to Divoom for this heaven sent gadget received as a raffle prize during Twestival Manila’s get-together at Le Bistro Vert  @TwestivalMNL on March 24, 2011 just right after the day I was eyeing on getting one.

Visit your nearest Apple Reseller store (or Power Mac Center) or any Game Stop branch for an affordable and reasonable price of Php1,150. It also comes in red and blue for those who wants color on their speakers.

Summer Cleaning

Okay, It should be Spring Cleaning but in Manila, Philippines there are only two seasons: Rainy and Summer hence the term.

The entire Holy Week, I COMMIT myself to and for change. I am all about inspiration, motivation, production and dedication. This has been the first time I’ve ever been giddy on segregating and fixing things accumulated over the years. I also decided to relocate back to the room I grew up with instead of the bigger room I transferred in when I flew back home from the states which I hoped for when I was younger (I thought It would’ve been nice for sleepovers)

Relocating: 2 4-corners of my room

Photo on the Left is the first corner of my room right after you open the door. Thanks to my Mom and our trusted Carpenter we moved almost all my cabinets on that side and the Photo on the Right is where my little comfort comes in.I may not have a loo in this room (I will have to head out and pass by the dining area to the guest comfort room) but I sure am more than glad I moved back.

Changes are still occurring. Renovating and Relocating on a budget. Mounts of paper were segregated for recycling, boxes filled with items fit for garage sale and donations for Maple Tree Foundation, Visayan Forum Foundation and few books for a public library’s collection.

For the Walls: Color Theme

The fact I now wake up near a window again, hearing the birds chirping and the ray of light hitting my blue curtain makes the entire waking-up to a new day encapsulate you into this rejuvenating feel and perspective.

It’s time for some repainting. For finally, I received the blessing from my parents to personalize my room as MY room with MY OWN touch – What do you think of the theme? Oh, If only I have the luxury to transform my room, I would’ve want to have my little nook resemble the photo above or take an inspiration and transform the walls resembling to the photo below:

shade of white and blue

April is the New January. Hello 2011!

Hopefully I’ll be done segregating and transferring all my stuff by Easter Sunday. What about you? Have you done your Summer cleaning? 🙂

Job Hunt: Score your FIRST interview

Not too long ago I taught few subjects at a nearby College and not only was I able to teach valuable lessons to my students but also established friendship.  Today, few of my students approached me through facebook telling me their frustration on failing all job interviews they’ve gone to and not receiving any call backs. Its been a year of job hunting.

This post is for you, kids!

After years of waking up early attending to your first morning class, endless projects and completing your thesis; who wouldn’t want to graduate from college already? There’s more for each and one of you to learn.

Now, that you’ve stepped out of collage. Here are few tips on scoring that first interview call back:

1. Disseminate that resume to companies. Make sure that company interests you and close to your heart. Don’t waste time on applying on all job vacancy available on the classified ads. Make a call if you must and ask to whom you’re going to address your letter, which email address do you have to send it to or landmarks on the address when you hand your resume.

2 Craft that perfect cover letter. Make the letter concise, clear and professional. Introduce yourself and include why you’re fit for the job. Don’t forget to include your contact details.

3. Professional Email address. Please, for good sakes, don’t use your 2qt4u[at]email[dot]com address. Make sure you have an appropriate email address which has your name on it i.e johnsmith[at]email[dot]com.

4. Subject Title. Follow directions if there’s any but what’s important is you write down the summary of the purpose on why you’re sending them a letter. e.i  Job Application: Management trainee.

5.  Complete your words. Once you abbreviate or write the body of the letter in an awful SMS lingo, expect nothing but a waste of time and effort on your job application.

6. Response to Email or SMS notification. Just like in composing the body of your email and cover letter, respond to that SMS or email in complete words. Spare them the jejemon jargon.  i.e   GudAM (Good Morning),  xori (sorry)

Good luck! I’ll be posting more.

Show Synopsis:

Oi, Oishi!

Thank you Oishi

For somebody who’s vegetarian and trying to burn the unwanted bulges, snacks and any kind of junk food are prohibited but one fine day, an Oishi truck parked in front of my garage. I thought it was another newsletter but much to my surprise, it was a box load and a huge paper bag of goodies from Liwayway Corporation.

24 bottles of Smart C+, two of each Oishi products such as Marty’s, Bread pans, Baconette strips, Ridges; a huge family pack of Pillow and two boxes of new products – Wafu, a long rolled wafer in cheese and leche flan flavor. You couldn’t imagine the delight as I brought the items inside the house, I felt as if I placed a podium finish receiving a bunch load of goodies!

While the brother owned the Baconette Strips and Ridges potato chips, I’ve already marked all the Marty’s Crackin’ Vegetarian Chicharon (Plain Salted and Salt & Vinegar variants.) and Bread pan for my consumption. Albeit Wafu turned out to be the favorite – you couldn’t imagine how 2o rolled wafers (specifically the leche flan flavor) were consumed in less than 3 days, I even had to safe keep at least one for me and one for my boyfriend to taste!

The Bread pan snacks has been reserved and added on my salad cravings (the aha! moment for savory croutons substitute), the family packed  ziplocked chocolate-filled enriched with Vitamin-A Pillows snack has been frugally eaten one at a time as my rewarding dessert or for a taste to satisfy my sugar cravings.

Pair any of those flavorful Smart C+ with any of the Marty’s snack, you’re already set for a great merienda treat!

Thank you Oishi for such pleasant surprise! Maybe one day, someday again… next time?

Since the day I decided to run for a cause, I’ve been falling for volunteer work, and try to have as much time as I can to fit its schedule into life. At its root, volunteering helps others, and that’s most important. But along the way, I’ve learned to believe that helping others also encourages personal growth, and that’s significant, too.

Have you volunteered before? If so, what did you gain from the experience? If not, what holds you back?

We don’t have to exhaust our time and our bodies to volunteer. We can do as little or as much, as big or as small as we feel led to do. It’s making a difference, any difference, that counts.

We could read for a group of kids at the nearby public school, or for a medical mission near where you live. Tutor a struggling student in his/her favorite subject (hopefully you’re good at it). Run errands for someone confined to their home, or handle tedious office jobs (filing, photocopying) for the local non-profit. Host an event for a cause, Offer hands and supervision for children’s art class (perfect for summer) or marshall at one of those running events.

If you’re looking, there are so many places to help.

Sometimes you’ve got to dig deep and think as much as you research on which foundation or organization are you emotionally invested on or attached to – that’ll make that volunteerism work more fulfilling and defying.

What do you think? Do you have inspired ideas?

CHALLENGE: Find some volunteer work–it could be a one-time activity or something you set up weekly, monthly–to do soon. You’ll feel blessed and thank yourself more than ever for doing so.

Smart C+ My Healthy Drink

Smart C+

This is the second time I’ll be posting about my favorite health drink and I couldn’t stop myself from loving it.

While everyone is gulping on iced cold soda or iced tea – I have been gulping on Smart C+ especially during in the middle of the summer heat.

I must admit though, I look like a walking advertisement keeping a bottle or two of Smart C+ in my purse every each time I head out for errands, work engagements or after a good run but this healthy drink not only became a staple drink for those who are on-the-go but it has become that drink who helped supplement my body resistance.  You have no idea how the additional vitamins and nutrients has rescued me from having the scare of migraines.

One of each flavor stocked in my freezer and gulp one or two when the need comes to rise.

Aside from knowing these drinks has been saving me before I get terrible migraines in the middle of a sunshiny afternoon and recuperate from food poisoning wherein I couldn’t eat anything; I love the fact that I’m not loading up on sugar.

With only 100 calories, you get 320% vitamin C which plays a certain role in maintaining our health, vitality and well-being, 50% Vitamin B5 and 50% Vitamin B6  which helps release energy from carbohydrates, fats, and proteins and helps produce red blood cells. It’s friendly to diabetics too and those who are closely monitoring their sugar intake (those who are in constant diet?) as they use Cane Sugar instead of simple syrups.

I don’t think those brands claiming they’re the newest healthy drink can go as healthy as Smart C+ and I’m grateful for being introduced to this healthy drink. Thank you for nourishing me with more bottles just right in time for summer!

Smart C+ is manufactured by Liwayway Marketing Corporation and carries products such as Oishi.

Expand your Network : Meet Opportunities half-way

Attending a Networking Event isn’t a soiree or another one of those hand-shaking “hello there, pleasure to meet you” parties; it’s neither just an event for swapping calling cards and resumes but it’s that perfect place on how you establish rapport and build a relationship that can lead to opportunities.

Signing up and being on site is only but the beginning of the networking process. Effective networking takes time and builds lasting relationships where both parties can help one another. You can’t just sit around holding a glass of whine wine and wait things to happen. You have to congenially get out there.

My first Networking Event with the core group of N.E.W (Network for Enterprising Women) at Echo Store, Serendra

If you’re an entrepreneur who’s earnestly passionate on your craft, expanding your network is one of those crucial events you’d have to attend to but being present on such get-together need not to require you to come out too strong wherein you’d be pitching in to every stranger that you meet.

How do you break the ice?

What Network Marketing Isn’t

I have been curious about Network Marketing: Is it synonymous to Pyramiding? Is it Pyramiding?although I’ve witnessed tons of seminars and talks about such when I was in college, It never occurred to me to join into anything as it sounded “too good to be true” , another one of those scams you’ll regret after or thought (until presently) I’ll never be a seller or recruiter.

Being a Virtual Employee Means Being ProactiveOur generation are more capable to freelancing and being their own boss; majority of those who are in my circle are entrepreneurs or proprietors and Network Marketing certainly is one of the best advice they usually give me when starting up a business when you still don’t have the capital to actually make your own business structure or ample dough to whip and supply your own product.

After meeting two new young adults, as they discussed and showed their monthly income through the past year, it made me wonder on who they’ve become, what they are now doing and how they actually switched from having a day job, stopped accepting nocturnal shifts into their own boss who earns triple to quadruple than how much they actually earn being an employee of the industry they were in.

I can’t say that I’m already hopping into the umbrella of Network Marketing but after reading through the difference between “Pyramiding” and “Network Marketing”  , I’m one step knowledgeable than I was. I’m not as skeptical as I used to be.

For those of you who are questioning themselves about Network Marketing, may this post help you deplete those negative definition and give Network Marketing a Chance.  Again, there’s more research to be done but knowing and learning is a step towards clarity. It’s up to you if you’ll accept the challenge of being a Network Marketer.

This blog post clarifies the differences between network marketing and a “pyramid.” as discussed by Carolyn B Johnson (@Carolyn_Johnson)

What is a Pyramid?

A pyramid is a scheme where normally, there’s no product involved at all, just money changing hands — or if there is a product, it’s clearly there just to support a money game.

Pyramids are strictly a money game and have no basis in real commerce.  For example, pyramids are programs similar to chain letters where people just invest money based on the promise that other people will put in money that will filter back to each person that participate and somehow, they’ll get rich.  In short, it is a get-rich-quick scheme.   Just remember, if to looks too good to be true – it IS too good to be true.

There are many such programs in circulation today — so be careful when you are introduced to such a program — chances are it IS a Pyramid scheme!

What is Network Marketing?

Network marketing is a business model that is based on providing people with real, legitimate products they need and want at a fair price.  In network marketing a person buys into the concept of the product(s) offered, sponsor other people and teach those people how to sell the company product and those people sponsor others who duplicate the process.

This concept is called “leverage”…..  You can leverage your time and increase the number of hours of work effort on which you can be paid by sponsoring other people and earning income on their efforts, while at the same time they get paid for sponsoring and leveraging the efforts of others.  This is a win-win for all involved.

J. Paul Getty, who created one of the world’s greatest fortunes, said “I would rather make 1 percent on the efforts of 100 people than 100 percent on my own efforts.” This very basic concept is the cornerstone of network marketing.

By helping the people you personally sponsor to sponsor others, you duplicate yourself.  As this process continues, you create compound growth that can lead to hundreds or even thousands of people coming into your business.

Network marketing has proven itself as part of the new economy and is becoming a preferred way to do business here and around the world.  It is highly endorsed by Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and others as the new business model of the future.

Network marketing isn’t about taking advantage of friends and relatives. The primary goal is to share excellent products, services, and opportunities with people you know — family, friends and loved ones to help them improve their lives and future.

Sharing the products or services and the opportunity with people you know is still the basic foundation of the business, although today we see more people using sophisticated marketing techniques such as the Internet, conference calling and other long-distance sponsoring techniques to extend their network across the country.

In Summary

Don’t let questions about whether your network marketing opportunity is a pyramid cause you concern about whether your network marketing opportunity is legitimate.  Remember, if you have a solid product or service that customers might need or want your network marketing company is legitimate.
