I have been looking for ZUMBA in Metro Manila (for 2 years now), thought of asking friends and tried to seek for certified teachers but there was no one who can officially have it launched. To tell you frankly, I never lost hope and kept on inquiring at Curves since its the only center who has great mileage and one of the pioneers of this exercise program in the United States. When CURVES finally arrived, I knew ZUMBA is a step closer.

Lost no hope. a few months ago, I called and went to CURVES to inquire if they’ve considered having  ZUMBA; on a good note, I was told – off the record — they found a certified trainer who can teach and she’ll be starting classes soon. You can’t imagine the glee I wore since the day they told me BUT I  was told not to disclose it to anyone just yet.

Awaiting for the announcement before I spread it to the world, a few weeks after, I may now. Hello, ZUMBA!!

Who can try Zumba?

All ages, fitness levels and dance abilities can participate in and benefit from Curves® Circuit with Zumba® Fitnessclasses. During the 30-minute class, participants work out on each Curves strength machine for one minute, alternating upper, lower and core muscles. After one minute, the music cues the participant to change stations on the circuit, and she moves to an area between machines to do Zumba® moves, which tone and sculpt the body while burning fat. A licensed Zumba® instructor from the Zumba® Instructor Network (ZIN), Rowena Jose, teaches simple, modified Zumba® moves from the center of the circuit.

How is it like?

At the end of 30 minutes, participants have completed one trip around the entire circuit, worked every major muscle group, and achieved a fun, energetic cardio workout ending with a group stretch led by the Zumba® instructor.

  2. I’m taking Zumba every Monday 6-630 then Friday 430 -5 then the rest of the days will be regular curves program 🙂 I’ve seen your tweets and you’re about to have a surgery (removal of wisdom tooth). I don’t think you can workout after a surgery? hehe Sure I’ll send your regards to her 😉
